Faun Fables are uncommonly great project of the Bay Area musicians Dawn McCarthy and Nils Frykdahl, both known for their involvement in projects of Bonnie Prince Billy and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.
Although stylistically difficult “irrepressible”, they are quickly parked times when eh sympathetic “Freak Folk”, some prefer to call it musical theater or Songtelling. For use in addition to the distinctive voices are most diverse instruments of violin guitar over to the carillon. Nevertheless, the sound is often caused by elements of rock, but also the Musical (!) And supplemented by experimental sounds.
The compositions are not always applied only to harmony towards what is reflected in the unpretentious, but expressive vocals McCarthy.
