About

Old friends gather and invite you to board a ship of creative reality with a bag of folk medicine in the form of frontier music, performance, visual art, drink, and merry company. Travelling folk musicians Intuitive Compass and Oddjob Ensemble join with Daniel Anderson (k̄nautwerk / blondk̄naut) to produce a night of audio and visual spectacle that is sure to engage your mind, brighten your soul, and move your feet to dance the night away.

Featured Performers

Revolutionizing the model of the bohemian lifestyle, following their Intuitive Compasses, the group is a family FOLK show all its own, from a one man band to a Vaudeville Medicine Show, often including Fire, Aerial Acrobatics, with a splash of the Old West… Dedicating their lives to the traditions carried on by the living troubadours of today, their show is a bit like time travel.

Kalei Yamanoha’s strange and wonderful brainchild, a consortium of multi-instrumentalists and specialists based in the San Francisco Bay Area. With powerful ancient melodies and sounds that twist the ear into a delicious musical pretzel, they touch upon many different cultural influences and find unusual but fascinating combinations of traditional styles, jazz, and progressive music. Largely instrumental, an evening with the Oddjob Ensemble is a showcase of stunning musicianship, exotic tonalities and of course shenanigans.

Daniel Anderson is a projection mapping wizard that conducts his self-created visual art installations with wearable sensors. He has performed for Karsh Kale, Kaminanda, and installed cathedral-sized projections in the heart of San Francisco. Combining dance and technology into a live performance, Anderson’s visual art installations must be experienced to be believed.

One part of Intuitive Compass, has performed with stiltwalking troupe Carpetbag Brigade Physical Theater, performed aerial acts over the heads of onlookers with Flam Chen, and more. Her unique aerial perfomances give yield to a special energy that leaves any audience electrified and awed.
