About the Panel

Fall 2016 celebrates the reopening of the newly renovated Roble Gym as the home of Stanford’s Theater and Dance academic programs. In conjunction with Stanford Historical Society, TAPS presents the retrospective “Roble Rewind: A Look Back at Dance and Theater at Stanford.” TAPS Chair Branislav Jakovljevic will moderate a conversation with Professor Janice Ross and Professor Emeritus Bill Eddelman, longtime leaders of Stanford’s Dance and Theater academic programs. RSVP is requested for the SHS panel.

About “Ghost Architecture: A Palimpsest”

Ghost Architecture: A Palimpsest” is a performance installation by Aleta Hayes’s “The Chocolate Heads” that commemorates the reopening of Roble Gym. Starting in the Courtyard before moving into Roble Dance Studio, the performance embraces memories, stories, and movement from former teachers and students, while also revealing simultaneous layers of dance, contemporary movement, and social organization. The performance features site-specific design by Jamie Lyons (TAPS Ph.D) and live music.
