Booth A16

The 500 Capp Street Foundation will be participating in the UNTITLED, Art Fair in San Francisco featuring:

  • Public premiere of David Ireland’s Schemes (1988)

The 500 Capp Street Foundation is pleased to present, for the first time, Schemes, a series of nine works on paper by David Ireland. The original works on paper, a mixture of collaged photographs, graphite and paint, are from a series of proposed site-work schemes that Ireland created for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles in 1988. In our UNTITLED booth, a commissioned series of all nine archival pigment artist proof prints will be on display.

  • Limited edition print box-sets

The Foundation is offering 15 limited edition box-sets for sale at UNTITLED. Each box set includes all nine archival pigment prints, which are printed and embossed by Urban Digital and housed in custom wooden boxes made by Bay Area craftsman Ian Mullen.

  • LP by Phillip Greenlief recorded at the David Ireland House

Also featured is a debut LP recording, produced in collaboration with Oakland-based saxophonist and composer Phillip Greenlief. The yellow vinyl album features Greenlief’s jazz-based improvisational response to the architecture and artworks of The David Ireland House, and includes Ireland’s architectural drawings on the record sleeve. Unsigned and signed LPs start at $30 each and will include special liner notes.

  • New custom tote bags

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of The David Ireland House’s public opening, the Foundation has also created the first in a series of deluxe canvas tote bags for $20 each.

(Receive a $5 discount on the tote bag with the purchase of a signed or unsigned LP.)

The bag features poster artwork from David Ireland’s 1981 exhibition with Alonzo Green at 65 Capp Street, stating: “FOR SALE REAL ART”.

  • Replica of Ireland’s Contadina wall

Echoing a frequent gesture utilized by Ireland in his gallery and museum interventions, the Foundation will cover one of their booth walls with a urethane varnished sheetrock replica of the Contadina wall surfaces that Ireland created for the 1985 McBean Gallery exhibition, Inspired by Leonardo, at the San Francisco Art Institute. The original Contadina wall can be seen in its permanent location at the David Ireland House.

San Francisco-based filmmaker Paul Clipson will screen LIGHTFALLS: Films by Paul Clipson, an 80 minute program featuring recent works made during his time at 500 Capp Street in July 2016.
