The unique sound emanating from these two accomplished guitarists is a blend of melodious Classical and fiery Flamenco … the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. A skilled Flamenco guitarist, Lliam comes with a strong foundation in rock and jazz and is equipped with extraordinary improvisational skills. Jon’s classical background is intermingled with a Latin America/ Spanish flair. He is identified with his dulcet guitar sounds and as a nice departure from an entire instrumental repertoire, sings in many different vocal styles including Flamenco and Cuban. The magic of The Reventones (Roughly translated from Spanish for explosion or almost bursting) is the chemistry of these two artists and their common ground rooted in Spanish-influenced music (Rumba, South American, Cuban, Pop, Classical, etc.) Two artists, two styles, two personalities … one sound … sure to captivate and leave you wanting more.
Lliam Christy — flamenco guitar
An accomplished Flamenco guitarist having emerged on the St. Louis scene in 2003 and is one of the few Flamenco guitarists regionally able to accompany Flamenco baile and cante in the traditional style, Lliam is highly sought after. Lliam performs as a soloist, with Los Flamencos in which he serves as Music Director and with The Reventones. Lliam earned a Masters of Music from Webster University.
He has studied Flamenco guitar with Fritz Lerma (founder of Los Flamencos), Oscar Herrero and Gerardo Nunez in Spain. Lliam has played for Maria Benitez in Santa Fe, Manos Rojas in Kansas City. Lliam currently tours between St. Louis and Los Angeles.

“You have to be able to dirty it,” he says. “I’m serious about that. If you can’t dirty it, you’re not going to make it as a flamenco musician. You can say the same thing about a blues musician or about rock & roll. It’s got to be real. It has to come from your heart.”
Jon-O Knight — flamenco guitar
Intermingled with a Latin America/Spanish flair. Jon is identified with his dulcet guitar sounds and as a nice departure from an entire instrumental repertoire, sings in many different vocal styles including Flamenco and Cuban.
Miles Jay — double bass, bouzouki, lyra
A composer and instrument maker, and an active performer with many prominent artists around the world. Broad in range of his musical influences and communities, Miles has lived abroad for years absorbing styles from many traditions, and has performed in such venues as Carnegie Hall, the Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi, TED 2013 Long Beach, and the United Nations.
From 2005 to 2012, Miles lived in Egypt and Lebanon, performing and collaborating with many beloved artists of the region, including Youssou N’Dour, Ziad Rahbani, Naseer Shamma, Ross Daly, and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. During this time he co-founded and co-produced several ensembles and albums, as well as traveled extensively around the region for concerts in Dubai, Turkey, Greece, Tunisia, Oman, Algeria, Senegal, Syria, and Western Europe. Active in studios as well, Miles worked with composer Khaled Mouzannar as music consultant and instrumentalist on the score to Nadine Labaki’s latest film “Where do we go Now,” an official selection of both Sundance and Cannes. Throughout all of this valuable experience, Miles focused on re-imagining the bass’s role both as an accompanying instrumental and as a melodic lead, adapting a wide range of Arabic, Greek, and Turkish ornamentation to develop his own extended technique when playing with a bow.
Bobby Wilmore — percussion
Came to Los Angeles in 2001 on a music scholarship to USC Thornton School of Music to study Jazz Drumming and World Percussion. Within no time Bobby was performing with some of L.A.s finest; including Harry Belafonte, Andy Garcia, Francisco Aguabella, Rebekah Del Rio, Justo Almario, Bill Watrous, Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro, Bianca Ryan, and Maestro Lázaro Galarraga. Bobby has also done many studio sessions with artists such as Maya Angelou, Ron Trent, Karsh Kale, The Quit Orchestra, Shawn Rivera, Moonlight Carnival, Kathleen Grace, Roger Carnes, and Jorge Black.
Bobby has performed around the world for events including the International Tour in London with The Variations, National Summer Tour with Ali and AJ, Corbin Bleu, and Drake Bell, AFI Film festivals, HBO Black Film Awards Ceremony, MOLA, Ford Amphitheatre, SXSW, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Eagle Rock and Pasedena Jazz Festivals, African market place, Ensanada Wine Festival, and the Festival of the drum at UC Riverside. Recently Bobby played a tour in St. Louise, St. Croix and Puerto Rico where he premiered his newly released CD.
Bobby just finished executive producing an album of traditional
afro-cuban music with his God-Father Maestro Lázaro Galarraga and Producer Angel Figueroa; which features the three of them playing Batá drums and Singing. The Album Emí Ókókán, was released in July 2009 in L.A. at a sold out theatre in Hollywood, it is now on i-tunes.
Bobby is the Musical Director for L.A.’s top Pan-African performance ensemble L’Esprit D’Afrique. This group combines dancers and musicians who perform a wide variety of African influenced traditional and contemporary styles. They are building a huge following in L.A. playing regularly at clubs, schools, corporate events, and festivals.
Bobby also spreads his passion for music through teaching world music and percussion all over Los Angeles. He’s taught classes at USC, University of Missouri, Foshay Middle school, Santa Monica Ocean Charter School, Lula Washington Dance Center, Museum of Latin American Art, and many Oarnge County and Los Angeles Youth Centers. He has several classes weekly at PAWS Music and Creative Seeds in L.A. Both of which are schools for people of all ages that promote community andculture through music, dance, and the arts.
