This year our donor thank you benefit dinner event “The Monday a little more then a month before” is coming up on June 12 to be held at Finnish Kaleva Hall, a great place for music and culture in North Berkeley located at 1970 Chestnut Street just four blocks from the North Berkeley BART station. We’re also really excited to present a special rare performance by the duo Ze Bib! featuring Shanna Sordahl and Robert Lozez in addition to a delicious menu and dessert provided by Slippery Fish Catering for all preferences.
The 16th Annual Outsound New Music Summit is coming up starting the week of July 23 showcasing wild and wondrous music, workshops, and new experiences. This year will feature living legends of jazz and improvisation; a night of amazing cuting edge composition; an epic night of sound collage, and our yearly “Touch the Gear” Expo!

Outsound Presents plays an important role in sustaining Bay Area creative and experimental music presenting over eighty shows annually on a very small budget including the Outsound New Music Summit in July, but it can’t happen without you. About the Music!

- Shanna Sordahl — cello, electronics
ZE BIB! is a collaborative effort between cellist/electronic musician Shanna Sordahl and percussionist Robert Lopez. Their music grapples with the spastic intensity arising from their explorations into sound worlds developed both collectively and independently. Both are graduates of Mills College’s music MFA program, and their extreme musical interests converge with explosive force. Their music is tinged with influences ranging between noise, free improvisation, avant garde rock, and heavy drone. They cultivate psychological structures and interpretations of material grown out of improvisations, all with an emphasis on the deconstruction of composed melodic and rhythmic material.
