Week 5 | June 26-30 | Beatriz Milhazes

Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes mixes geometric shapes, color and inspiration from masters such as Matisse and Kandinsky to create kaleidoscopic 2-D creations. Whole Foods Market will provide free healthy snacks for all summer camps.

jumpstART: Pre-K–K | Alison Harris

jumpstART will get your pre-k or kindergartener up and moving with art! This half-day program will include exciting music, motion and visual art activities that will nurture your budding artist! JumpstART runs 9 a.m.-noon.

Grades K-1 | Kooky Combos | Annie Doan

Let’s get kooky with color! In this camp, students will explore the world around them by combining colors with shapes! Inspired by our contemporary artist of the week, Beatriz Milhazes, we will experiment with different art techniques to create abstract paintings, prints and installations.

Grades K-1 | Swirls and Twirls | Leslie Hensley

How many colors can one canvas hold? Campers will create one-of-a-kind swirling abstract paintings, mixed-media projects and a collaborative camp installation. You will not be disappointed with the wonderful works of art your little artist creates!

Grades 2-4 | Creating with Clay | Perla Carreon

Explore one of the most versatile mediums in art, CLAY! Campers will learn hand-building techniques to design their sculptures. They’ll use processes like pinching, coiling and modeling to create their own one-of-a-kind clay masterpiece!

Grades 2-4 | Abstraction Attraction | Julie Simon

Are you ready to tap into your artistic self? Students will incorporate the styles of Beatriz Milhazes and her colorful abstract paintings to envision and create kaleidoscopic patterns. Paints, collages, chalk and oil pastels are standouts in this class as students use their imaginations to get lost in their art. Campers will be proud to frame the several pieces they create across various mediums.

Grades 5-6 | Hue Loves Art? | Eric Lyons

Inspired by the works of contemporary artist Beatriz Milhazes, campers will paint colorful pieces based on pattern and repetition. Just like Milhazes, students will use the influences of shapes and designs of their everyday lives. From waving fields of wheat to the slam-dunks of basketball players, every artist will be inspired to create!
