The San Francisco Electronic Music Festival announces the dates and artists for its eighteenth annual festival of adventurous electronic music. For the opening night on Friday, September 8th at Brava Theater Center, SFEMF presents Oberlin-based tape loop experimenter Aaron Dilloway, feminist noise reggaeton duo Las Sucias, and local experimental music and expanded cinema artist Suki O’Kane. The festival’s Brava concerts continue Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th, with performances by Grammy nominated composer and electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani, experimental duo JH1.FS3 (Puce Mary / Liebestod), multi-instrumentalist/producer Dax Pierson, electroacoustic musician and instrument builder Kaori Suzuki, Oakland-based Sharmi Basu’s performance project Beast Nest, and Bay Area rebel synth diviner Waxy Tomb.
On the afternoon of Saturday, September 8th at 4pm, join SFEMF artists and staff for a free reception at Adobe Books & Arts Cooperative featuring a site specific, performative piece by Siltbreeze signee Snickers.
