It is a pleasure to present the artworks of the First Edition of Art in the Origin.
Art in the Origin is our most ambitious and beloved project that has become a reality with this First Edition and will undoubtedly continue to grow in future editions. Art in the Origin arose from the desire to generate an Art Experience, to develop in the natural environment of Cantabria that could nourish the talent of the artists who perform it.
Cantabria counts with the patrimony of Paleolithic art more important of the Humanity, kept in its wonderful caves. Altamira, El Castillo, Las Monedas, El Pendo, Covalanas … are just some examples.
Many, many years ago, women and men, just like us, chose this wonderful land to live … And among them, there was one, who dreamed, loved and lived … also created and that creation was the origin of all Art. Then followed more artists and all these manifestations of art, engravings, drawings and paintings, are those that have been preserved, within our fantastic caves, for 40,000 years. Scientists can pinpoint many data about who, when, how and where they were made. The only thing they cannot respond to is, why they did it.
We want to believe that it was his/her passion and his/her intimate connection with nature which, surely, has moved those first artists to have the need to reflect it in the first traces of history. Prepare a color and generate a new magical reality that, even today, comes to life.
That is the spirit that Art in the Origin wants to transmit to the artists who come from different latitudes and want to walk through this creative process of nine days.
A process that begins with the deep emotion of the encounter with those first expressions shaped by those first artists and then surprised by the natural environment that surrounds them … mountains, marshes, cliffs, rivers, forests, meadows and sea.
In this communion of deep emotions, uncontainable magic and amazing landscapes, each artist develops his/her own artwork, vibrating with the rhythm of nature, in absolutely different scenarios and dialoguing, amazed, with the environment.
They work passionately day after day discovering new spaces that are reflected in the artworks and always guided by the enormous experience, capacity and talent of Andrea Juan.
In this first edition each artist has lived this experience, has been moved, has been carried out and has developed, working hard every day, his/her project in the natural environment, arriving, at the end of the experience, with a solid and surprising artwork.
