Cutting-edge jazz pianist Matthew Shipp collaborates with saxophonist Roscoe Mitchell, one of the founding fathers of free jazz, for an evening of radically unfettered improvisation in the spirit of the trailblazing Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians, formed in 1965. Experience the freedom of improvisation as part of Carnegie Hall’s “The ‘60s: The Years that Changed America” festival, and arrive an hour early for pre-concert drinks and conversation with fellow music enthusiasts.
