- Film screening of André – The Voice of Wine
- Followed by Q & A with Director Mark Tchelistcheff
Festival Napa Valley and Lincoln Theater co-present the Napa gala premiere screening of André – The Voice of Wine. André Tchelistcheff, the “Dean of American Winemaking,” was one of the most remarkable vintners of the twentieth century. André – The Voice of Wine takes viewers on a cinematic journey from Russia through Europe to America, exploring the story of the legendary winemaker. Born a Russian aristocrat, his family was forced to flee persecution under the Bolshevik revolution. After a turbulent early life, he came to the Napa Valley where he helped reshape the California wine industry after the repeal of Prohibition. André was an artist and scientist – his philosophy about life and his love for wine continues to influence generations of winemakers worldwide. This story, narrated by Ralph Fiennes and told in André’s voice and the voices of those who knew him best, features some of today’s most important vintners.
Special guests include director Mark Tchelistcheff, who will moderate a panel of winemakers and industry luminaries following the film. A curated wine tasting featuring wineries associated with Tchelistcheff over the course of his five decade-long career, including Beaulieu Vineyard, with whom Tchelistcheff worked for more than thirty-five years, is available with a $95 VIP ticket.
- General Admission tickets include a complimentary glass of wine from Beaulieu Vineyard.
- VIP tickets include meet and greet with film director, and curated wine reception.
