For one night only, the bi-coastal ensemble of Henry Kaiser, Max Kutner (NY), Andrew Dixon, Darren Johnston (NY), Michael Manring, Steve Robertson, and John Hanrahan will unite as A Love Supreme Electric for a special performance at Oakland’s Uptown Nightclub.

Over two extended sets, the group will present an explorative rendition of John Coltrane’s seminal 1965 suite “A Love Supreme” in its entirety as well as a special selection of material from the mid-1970’s electric repertoire of Miles Davis (material from Jack Johnson, Agharta, and Get Up With It) that Kaiser and Manring began to investigate with Wadada Leo Smith, 20 years ago, in the enormously popular Yo Miles! band.
