GLAS Animation Festival takes place March 21-24, 2019 in the historic city of Berkeley, California, just a quick ride away from San Francisco.
GLAS Animation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2014. Our core mission is to cultivate and promote the art and science of animation. We provide a unique platform for independent animation, champion diverse and underrepresented voices, and emphasize exceptional directors and artists that push visual, conceptual, and narrative boundaries within the cinematic artform. We are a community-driven organization that not only exhibits animated films, but creates a context and language for a shared understanding and appreciation of animation in the United States.
Location in downtown Berkeley, with its spirited California vibe and beauty, Hotel Shattuck Plaza offers a hip and historic retreat just blocks from the UC Berkeley campus and the Rockridge District. Our hotel is an easy stroll to a trendy mix of restaurants, theaters, shops, and attractions, including the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the UC Botanical Gardens. Literally around the corner from BART and the UC Berkeley shuttle, the hotel is easily accessible to/from Oakland and SFO airport and only 25 minutes from downtown San Francisco by subway.
