Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen flow seamlessly through genres, tempos, stories, and moods, ranging from Folk-Rock, Classical, Old Time, and Celtic, to Gospel, Jazz, Vintage Country, Rock n’ Roll, Blues, Ragtime, and Bluegrass embodying each style with virtuosic command and keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Enjoyment is palpable!
Meeting in 2012 via a chance YouTube sighting and now touring in support of their recently released fourth album, 2018’s Driving By Candlelight, Dan and Laurel combine soaring violin, diverse guitar styles, compelling storytelling, a dash of harmonica and plenty of humor, and unique vocal rapport for a dynamic, engaging, polished performance.
Their 2017 European concert tour to Ireland, the UK, Denmark, France, and Germany performing pre-release Driving By Candlelight songs demonstrated their blended influences with 13 new original songs “pondering contemporary subject matter with vintage sensibility.”
