ONLINE BROADCAST (Originally recorded SEP 7, 2018)

This intimate opening night performance from the 2018-19 Season, filmed in September 2018, features three-time GRAMMY Winning vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant and virtuoso pianist Sullivan Fortner — a collaboration that resulted in the 2018 Mack Avenue duo album The Window, the GRAMMY-winner for Best Jazz Vocal Album.

First working together on Salvant’s 2017 release Dreams and Daggers, Salvant and Fortner expand on their remarkable chemistry with The Window, performing a selection of material ranging from early 20th century hits of the French cabaret to Stevie Wonder, Sondheim, and original compositions. This concert is presented in acknowledgment that Cécile’s last SFJAZZ performance, the Bay Area debut of her song cycle Ogresse, was our first concert to be canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak in early March.

Please note: You must be logged in with an active membership to view this concert. We recommend logging in at least five minutes before the start of the show.
