DNHC’s 2019 season finale…don’t miss out!
“Roots, Rock & Passion” are the music and vibe of SF Peninsula’s, longtime independent guitarist singer-songwriter and performance instructor Garrick Davis.
Child of former swing band drummer Ernest Sr. and classically-trained operatic soprano Marie Davis, Garrick Davis’ band “World Blues” is guitar-driven music rooted in American Blues and Gospel, augmented by music and instruments of multicultural origins.
Davis has been writing original music since age 14 but at 10 years of age was accepted into the prestigious Colorado Children’s Choir, including a headline performance at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Citing Jimi Hendrix, Richie Havens, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Eric Clapton (Cream), Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter, and ZZ Top among his earliest influences as a young teen, and continuing into adulthood, Davis went on to discover those artists’ inspirations, such greats as Son House, Bukka White, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, BB King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Curtis Mayfield, Wes Montgomery but not ignoring John McLaughlin, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Zappa, Jerry Garcia, Rory Gallagher and Pete Townsend as deeper sources of inspiration.
