An acclaimed ensemble of Florentine and Roman virtuosi perform a special concert commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of Giulio Caccini (1551 – 1618) in the exquisite library of the House of the Redeemer, built in 1607 and brought to the United States during World War I.

A member of the pioneering circle of composers, poets, and philosophers called the Florentine Camerata, Caccini originated the new form of opera as an attempt to recreate the theater of ancient Greece.
