BUY TICKETS – No experience required. Open to all levels. Apps used: Garage Band, Logic, Ableton Live. Software not required to attend. A small number of computers will be available to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops and headphones to this class.

Join acclaimed recording engineer and producer Heidi Trefethen for an insightful class at the SFJAZZ Center covering the basics of recording, mixing and mastering for home studios.

Heidi will discuss and illustrate the best use of signal flow and mic placement to get your studio recordings sounding great. She will also discuss and demonstrate the fundamentals mixing technique including the use of EQ and effects, compression in multitrack sessions. The mysteries of mastering audio tracks will also be discussed in this class. This is a great class for producers who want to take their tracks to the next level.

NOTICE | COVID-19 VACCINATION

All audience members, staff and artists must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Prior to entering the SFJAZZ Center, you will be asked to provide proof of vaccination through a QR code generated by a Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record website, or an original physical vaccination card or photograph of it.

Children under the age of 12, for whom there is no currently available vaccine, are not permitted to enter the SFJAZZ Center regardless of the vaccination status of their guardian. As soon as children under the age of 12 become eligible to receive a vaccine, or restrictions are eased, we will welcome that age group back to the SFJAZZ Center.
