Mr. Sia has performed in France, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Philippines as well as New York’s Carnegie Hall. The program will include the diabolic and powerful Etude Fantasy by the one of the most important LGBT American composers of the 20th Century, John Corigliano, and as well as the monumental and virtuosic but rarely performed Grand Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Opus 14, also known as “Concerto without Orchestra” by Robert Schumann. Selections will include the Portuguese composer Antonio Fragoso’s melancholic Nocturno in D flat, Debussy’s jazzy La plus que lent, and the exquisite Automne etude by the first well-recognized woman composer in classical music, Cécile Chaminade.

Active in the Northern California region, Mr. Sia performs regularly as soloist, chamber musician and a collaborative pianist. His repertoire spans from the Baroque works of Bach, Soler, Handel, and Scarlatti, the Classical repertoire of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, the Romantic literature of Schubert, Liszt, Brahms, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Schumann, and Rachmaninoff, and on to the 20th century compositions of Debussy, Ravel, Prokofiev, Bartok, Copland, Corigliano, Ives, Ligeti, Bolcom, and Gershwin. Mr. Sia started his piano studies at the age of 6 and received his formal musical education at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Aspen Music School and Festival in Colorado and earned his Master Degrees in Piano Performance at California State University, Sacramento, graduating cum laude. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and master classes for internationally renowned concert pianists and celebrated pedagogues such as Louis Lortie, Gilbert Kalish, Minuro Nojima, Thomas Schumacher, Leon Fleisher, Gabriel Chodos, Cecile Licad, and Olivier Cazal.
