Karl Berger is a six time winner of the Downbeat Critics Poll as a jazz soloist, recipient of numerous Composition Awards ( commissions by the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, European Radio and Television: WDR, NDR, SWF, Radio France, Rai Italy. SWF-Prize 1994 ). Professor of Composition, Artist-in-Residence at universities, schools and festivals worldwide; PhD in Music Esthetics.

Álvaro Domene is a Madrid-born, New York based guitarist and composer operating at the convergence of various styles of spontaneous and composed music. Recent collaborators include Briggan Krauss, Jim Black, Michaël Attias, Joe McPhee, Karl Berger, Ches Smith, Mike Bisio, and Fred Lonberg-Holm. Domene attended the jazz program at Middlesex University in London, and has studied under Chris Batchelor, Elliott Sharp, and John Stowell. He is currently composing a new piece for string quartet, also writing for his newly formed trio “Leaving The Sky in Splinters” (with drummer Kate Gentile and bassist Kim Cass), and developing strategies for his first solo guitar album which will be recorded in the new year. He is also an active performer in New York City’s jazz and creative music scene, leading various groups in addition to working with numerous artists. His work has been positively reviewed by Jazzwise, New York City Jazz Record, All About Jazz, and many other specialized media outlets like Avant Music News, on which a recent release, “Synaptic Self” by the trio dMu, was included in the list of “Best Albums of 2016”.

Michael Bisio, bassist/composer, has eighty five recordings in his discography, twenty four of these are split evenly between leader/co-leader, ten of them document his extraordinary association with modern piano icon Matthew Shipp. Michael has been called a poet, a wonder and one of the most virtuosic and imaginative performers on the double bass. Nate Chinen in the New York Times writes: “The physicality of Mr. Bisio’s bass playing puts him in touch with numerous predecessors in the avant-garde, but his expressive touch is distinctive;…”
