Legendary LA post-punk outfit (and PTP fave) SAVAGE REPUBLIC make their long-overdue return to The Echo stage, celebrating their release of their new album on LTM. Fusing dub and tribal rhythms to sparse and chopping guitars, SR are Neubauten meets Godspeed. Beware.
Founded in 1984 by Steve Gerdes, Courtney Davies, Biff Sanders and Tom Dolan. Beth Thompson and Jon Napier joined as Tom departed. They were a pioneering art-punk band in the downtown LA scene in the early 80s. Labelmates of Savage Republic and For Against on legendary LA label, Independent Project Records, and influenced by the darker sounds of postpunk coming from the UK at the time: Joy Division, Bauhaus, Killing Joke, etc …
Industrial disorientation, and the beauty of the pop beast turned on it’s fat belly, Native Fauna’s music is dark and Post-Punk in a way that is timeless, yet firmly grounded in the present. Through the use of driving rhythms, analog instruments, stunning projections with modern and esoteric allusions, Native Fauna aims to challenge the audience and deliver an experience.
