A collaboration between two longtime friends, Dinner Party brings together keyboardist/composer Robert Glasper and saxophonist/producer Terrace Martin for a project rooted in their shared love of old-school hip-hop, soul, and modern jazz. Glasper became a superstar with his 2012 Blue Note GRAMMY-winner Black Radio and scored the 2015 Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead, while Martin was a producer of rapper Kendrick Lamar’s landmark To Pimp a Butterfly and is currently working with Herbie Hancock.

Dinner Party is, as its name suggests, intended as a musical conversation between friends. The pair’s 2020 self-titled EP featured saxophonist Kamasi Washington and DJ/producer 9th Wonder, and for this live event, Glasper and Martin have invited GRAMMY-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, described as “jazz’s young style god” by JazzTimes, and DJ Jahi Sundance, known for work with Glasper and Christian McBride.

Generously supported by the Koret Foundation.
