An evening of Leonard Cohen songs presented by Madeline Tasquin and Friends + Smitty and Julija. These dynamic musicians have been part of many Leonard Cohen tributes around the Bay Area over the years.
Incandescent and multifarious songwriter Madeline Tasquin emerges from an extended hiatus to present Leonard Cohen’s 1969 album Songs From a Room, in its entirety, joined by a selection of gems from the extended musicfamily that’s grown around her since she relocated from Canada to the Bay Area in 2006. “…a creative tour de force.” –Tony DuShane, San Francisco Chronicle.
Smitty and Julija are Ojai, California-based artists known worldwide for their beautiful soothing sound, featuring paired vocal harmonies and sensual interpretations of both their original music and songs from their favorite singer/songwriters. Since their 2012 release of To Leonard With Love (Seven Songs from Leonard Cohen), award-winning singer/songwriters Julija Zonic and Smitty West have performed their interpretations of Cohen’s music to sold-out concert venues in the US and Europe.
